About the Program

           Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. Angel Food’s groceries (valued at around $60-$75) are sold in a quantity that can fit into a medium sized box at $28 per unit. Each month’s menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items. When you purchase a regular unit, you may then also purchase a bonus order for an additional cost.
      Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for one week or a single senior citizen for the whole month. The food is all the same high quality that one would purchase at a grocery store. [There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads, and no produce that is almost too ripe.] Also offered for an additional cost are specialty boxes with various meats or other products. Many participants in this bonus program appreciate the expanded choices. Angel Food Ministries, like most other retail grocery stores, also participates in the U.S. Food Stamp Programs. Food sales and distribution will be handled by First Christian Church, 513 Hattie Avenue, Elizabethton, Tennessee - (423) 542-5651.
      A Sample menu would include: (1) 5 lb. Chicken Leg Quarters, (1) 1.5 lbs. Boneless Pork Tenderloin, (1) 3 lbs. Chicken Breast Filets, (2) 1 lb. Ground Turkey, (1) 1 lb. Ground Beef, (1) 2 lb. Chicken Tenders, (1) 14 oz. Philly Steaks, (1) 12 oz. All Meat Hot Dogs, (1) 17 oz. Birds Eye Simply Grillin’, (1) 2 lb. Shredded Hash Browns, (1) 1 lb. Cut Broccoli, (1) 1 lb. Carrots, (1) 16 oz. 16-Bean Soup Mix, (1) 7.5 oz Macaroni and Cheese, (1) 7 oz. Pancake Mix, (1) Dozen Eggs, and (1) Dessert Item. A Sample bonus order would include (1) 10 lb. Popcorn Chicken for $15, (1) 5 lb. Super Size Box, Ribeye Steaks (8 thick cut 10 oz steaks) for $18, or (1) 4.5 lb box of Chicken Cordon Bleu for $18.

How to Order

      Orders will need to be placed two (2) weeks prior to the pick-up date with the pre-payment for the order.
      You may mail your order with a check or money order; you may come by the church office (enter on the Hattie Avenue side) from 9 AM to 3:30 PM Monday thru Friday.
      Distribution Day will always be on Saturday. (Usually this is the fourth (4th) Saturday of the month, but check your menu for actual Pick-up date each month.) You will need to pick up your order at First Christian, bringing your own box or basket to be filled. Please enter from the parking lot side at the marked entrance….which will enter the hallway BESIDE the fellowship hall double doors. Menus are available in the Church Office. These can be emailed to you or you can stop by and pick one up during office hours. They are also below in PDF form for downloading. Menus for next month will also be available on Distribution Day. You may pre-order for the next month on Distribution Day also.
      THERE WILL BE NO SALE OF FOOD ON DISTRIBUTION DAY! ALL ORDERS ARE TO BE PRE-PAID UPON ORDERING. NO FOOD WILL BE HELD OVER…IF NOT PICKED-UP, IT WILL BE GIVEN AWAY.
