Opportunities to Serve at
First Christian Church
Angel Food Ministry:
There are many aspects to the Angel Food Ministry. During the month, church members help our Office Administrator take orders. On Distribution Day, many people are needed in order to make the Saturday run smoothly. Around 6 AM the truck loaded with food arrives. It is unloaded and sorted into stacks in our Fellowship Hall. As people come they are checked in and then go through the line where members put the food in their boxes. For more information go to the

Audio/Visual Team:
The Audio/Visual Team is in charge of all audio and video in the church. This includes running the sound during all services and running a computer during worship. They also deal with any technology such as computers and projectors in the church.
Choir:
The Choir consists of around 15 members, 5 men and 10 women. They usually have 2 or 3 cantatas during the year. Mainly, they sing on Sunday mornings for special music or for the communion meditation. They were on the radio last year performing a song from their Christmas Cantata.
Committee Member:
First Christian couldn't run without the help of the different committees in the church. The committees at First Christian are Eldership, Programs, Christian Education, Finance, Ministry, Building and Grounds, Youth, Children, and other Special Committees appointed by the Board.
Communion Preparation:
Each month a few people of the church are in charge of preparing the communion for our two Sunday services. The trays are cleaned, fresh cups are placed in them and filled with grape juice, and communion bread placed into its respective trays.
Communion Meditation:
Every week before our communion time, there is a communion meditation which helps the congregation to focus on the sacred time. Different members of the congregation give the meditation on a six month rotation. To know more, feel free to e-mail our minister

Praise Team:
The Praise Team, lead by our music minister Josh Ringley, has a praise service before the regular 10 o'clock main service. They sing more contemporary songs but usually have one traditional song in their service. The Praise Team consists of 4 singers, a flutist, guitar, bass guitar, and a keyboard. Reach Out Committee:
The Reach Out Committee helps those in the church who have lost loved ones or who need help in general. This group takes food out to these people and send encouraging cards to individuals. The Reach Out Committee is a real blessing in our church.
Teacher:
There are many teaching opportunities at First Christian. There are Sunday School classes which range from the nursery to senior adult classes, Sunday and Wednesday Youth classes, and Sunday and Wednesday Children classes.
Usher:
Ushers have the main function of greeting people as they arrive to the church building on Sundays and Wednesdays. These people have a smile on their face and offer a warm handshake every time you see them.

Women's Circle:
There are several women's circles in the church. These circles include the Esther Circle, Priscilla Circle, Ann Jett Circle, Volunteer Circle, and Sunrise Circle. Each circle has a monthly meeting and a monthly project such as the East Tennessee Christian Home or raising money for youth trips. Each circle also has at least one yearly mission which is usually a missionary. These monthly and yearly projects are different for each circle. In addition to this, each circle visits shut-ins and sends cards to the sick.
