The Women's Fellowship of First Christian Church was established during the 1940's. As the work of the women of First Christian Church grew, and is still growing, the need for organization became evident. So circles and committees within the fellowship were formed and are changed as needed to meet the needs of First Christian Church.
The objectives of the fellowship are:
- To include every woman of the church who is willing to cooperate in all its plans.
- To promote a closer fellowship with Christ and His Church.
- To be soul winners for Christ.
- To stress the importance of Daily Bible Reading.
- To cultivate a missionary spirit in the church.
- To visit and minister to the sick and shut-ins.
The Women's Organization provides opportunity for:
Service – Work in circles gives us an opportunity to serve, give of our time and energy – send cards – visit the sick – do things for special friends. It is more or less up to each one to decide which way we will serve, which things we can do, and when. The important thing is to pick out the things we can do and do them – for our own soul’s sake as well as for those that we do good deeds for.
Those who do as much as they can are always willing to serve in any way they can and they receive a greater blessing than those who try to get out of doing things. This is considered to always be a privilege and an opportunity.
The Fellowship of Christian people is the best that we can find and it is a privilege for us to enjoy. Not only that – it is one that will last through to eternity.
The Fellowship of Christian people is the best that we can find and it is a privilege for us to enjoy. Not only that – it is one that will last through to eternity.
The Women of First Christian continue to be servants for the Lord willing to work within First Christian for the glory of the Lord.
